Me thinks "wack and tack" doesn't accurately portray your skill. Seems I recall that you build your own bar shoes and whatnot.

    Gotta run....catch you fellas later.

I ain't a cowboy, but picky about footwear nonetheless. About 10 yrs ago I stumbled across my favorite Cat branded Wolverine steel toe loafers at Sears of all places. I just buy them direct now since Sears is swirling the drain and going to the mall sucks anyway. Needing something a little more sturdy to keep my feet dry when the snow flies, I bought these.

A little saddle soap and they could pass as dress boots except for the thick sole. Those are discontinued, but seem to have a new name (and higher price). Several other styles too.

Personally I'm a fan of ordering shoes online. I been wearing the same size for 40 yrs so that's not a mystery. I did have to do one exchange on a pair of Cat shoes early on. They cross shipped and I had the right ones in about 2 days.

About the only caution I'd offer is a lot of formerly great brands have either sold out or outright counterfeit. Georgia Boot comes right to mind. They're made in China the last 25 yrs or so and wont last 6 months.

    Giving that some more thought.

If I knew then what I know now I’d have bought a 359 or two, but...
I was young and didn’t know any better !

Justin roper boots are what pilots have worn for decades. Goat roper boots /wellies are real popular. These are what I wore for years along with a suit. Search ropers on that site for more styles. Now I like my shorts and boat shoes.

My Dad is the same about Red Wings. He's bought the same style long as I can remember, usually has them resoled 2x before the uppers are falling apart. Then gets a new pair. I tried to like them, but I guess I didnt inherit a Red Wing foot. They fit ok but I feel like I'm walking downhill on stilts with em on.
