Hello!
I've worked foodservice for a few years now and have been using my trusty magliner basic hand truck which works fine but after checking out the magliner website for new wheels I ran across the magliner ss handtruck and was intrigued... Does anyone use one of these? Thoughts? Opinions?

I’ve not used the Magliner SS. We use the Magcoas and I have a Wise hand truck as a spare. The Wise units are heavy duty for sure with option for disc or drum breaks.
The Magcoas are nice as well and work good nice light tare weight.FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
The only one I have seen being used is from a asian foodservice guy that had a pallet of rice he was wheeling into a Japanese steak house.

Every foodservice company should be using the SS truck. i haven't used one because i got out of food/beverage by the time it came to market, but looking at it, it's obvious it makes thing much easier.
As far as wheels, the balloon cushion and the new microcellular wheels are the best, in general, for food. i'll try to dig up the tech papers with the numbers----these are the easiest to push/require the least effort.
We used to have the staples account here (fed ex now has it) with lots of office paper and those wheels made a big difference.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
That's what I was thinking. It looks like it would make work much easier. Not sure how going down the ramp would work though

My dolly has a 170 lb stabilizer/pusher at the end of it, and he gets paid well enough to not whinge about wanting extra wheels.
Oh wait, that's me. -
But more importantly if you have to go down a ramp, how high is the ramp? At conventional dock height? Or drop deck. We used ramps at republic, or repukelic. They were at dock height AND not to mention heavy to put back in. This is not a good gig in my opinion.
