My significant other was routinely singled out for abuse by the female driver managers at this company. She would be harassed every 5 minutes on the qualcomm to the point where it interrupted her off-time. They then tried to single her out as a druggie and she was given multiple "random" urine tests although each time they came out negative. They even gave her one after she put in her notice hoping she would refuse. She took the test and it was negative. I don't know what they were trying to pull. I don't think they treat their male drivers this way. Also, Gordon is very retaliatory and malicious and will put everything and anything on your DAC including flat tires and outright false information. Save your career, don't go to Gordon. The wrapper may look nice but inside it's rotten. You have been warned.

    Well sure they do.

It has been my experience working for companies that have large female driver populations that they are so worried about lawsuits by women for discrimination that they will discriminate against males to accommodate their every need.

My guess is that if they are treating a women at GTI poorly, you can bet the males have it even worse.

By the way my GF was a former customer service rep and PT dispatcher for GTI out of Pacific Wa. They would commonly refer to the drivers as hobo's on wheels.

When I hear drivers sing praises about GTI I chuckle because I know what they really think about their drivers. And it ain't what the marketing dept puts out.:biggrin_25525:

There was one time last year Gordon management tried to assert control over their driver managers. I reckon they were told to treat drivers with respect. There was a one or two day period they started addressing us drivers as "sir" or "m'aam". One particular female driver manager would say "yes sir, yes sir, what can we do for you, we are here to serve you" with as much sarcasm as she could muster. You could almost hear the other dm's laughing in the background. Like I said, that only lasted one or two days then they were back to their old ways. The driver managers think it is they, not the drivers, who are the life's blood of the company. Keep in mind I am talking about the dm's at Pacific. Pacific did manage to have some decent dm's now and then but they were quickly run off. The Green Bay facility seemed to me a much more professional operation and better led than Pacific. I never had any issues with the Green Bay dm's. They were awesome compared to some of the immature excuses they had at Pacific. :biggrin_25525:

This post is down right alarming!!! I have been with GTI for a few years and have not experienced any of this. I don't know what the problem is, but I can say that if what you say is true, then I think I would have taken it straight up the chain of command to Steve Gordon himself. I know that I wouldn't take that stuff from anyone. I have had two bad dispatchers and three good ones including the one I have now. Something just doesn't seem right. As for all the dispatchers being bad apples; I don't buy it. Everyone I come in contact with has treated me with respect and dignity. I wouldn't stand for anything less. Having said that; I have been written up for "Insubordination" by a "Bad Apple of a Dispatcher" in the past, but I just laughed it off because she had it coming to her. I have experienced no retaliation and I am a very outspoken person who says it like it is.
In short, I am sorry to hear this from the company I work for. I think it is a shame and I hope that you take this to the Gordon's. It might not help you now, but it might help get rid of a "Bad Apple" for someone else. Take care and good luck.:biggrin_25511:

BigBlue, You keep chucklin' ok? I really don't care what you think. I have been here long enough and worked for enough other companies to know what a company is all about. If for some reason GTI feels the need to fire me, then so be it. I don't trust any company including the one I work for. Having said that, I don't give much creedance to the constant ######## and moaning by other drivers either; some people are their own worst enemies. I like it here at GTI, but also know that I can be fired or quit for any reason big or small. I just choose not to cry about reality or hide behind the local union man....:biggrin_25525:

You just think GTI is so great because you worked for pumpkin and swifty.
After those 2, GTI probably seems like a vacation.

But I do not believe you know as much about GTI as you think because you have made statements about GTI that just does not hold water. You said they are strict on logs and fair to their drivers yet I see their drivers speeding routinely, so they are either doctoring their logs, or loging over the speed limit, and they pay a piece rate while claiming they care about safety.

I agree GTI is probably not as bad as other OTR carriers. But why would anyone want to subject themselves to a over zealous safety dept , when they are getting paid based on how many miles they can drive a truck.

You see I am not as easily duped as the company kool aid drinkers such as yourself. If Gordon or any other OTR company wants to claim they are concerned about safety. They need only to put their drivers on the clock to prove it.

I only have one thing to say...I hope you get over yourself someday. You obviously have some issues which I choose not to reply to. Have a nice day...:biggrin_25525:
