i carry one of these. not this specific one, but very similar. it fits nicely in a laptop bag that i use to carry other stuff. gloves, phone charger, handbooks etc.
That’s what all the important Truckdrivers use.Lol. I’ve got mine. DOT physical card is in permit book. Soft cover binder with zipper. Actually a photo album. Nice neat and orderly. Actually gotten quite a few compliments over the years. It’s all about the presentation, And a little luck.
See that folded piece of paper in front of the DOT occiffers instruction card for e log? That's my wallet card. Kept in permit book with the other critical papers. Rarely will they ask you for it now a days. Cause the state will simply suspend your cdl if you let it lapse. So he knows your medical is good basically when he runs your license.
What’s a wallet? Cash? Sounds familiar. I think I once had some of that.Weekend? Does it actually end? That too sounds familiar.
How do I carry my DOT physical? Oh, about 20 lbs overweight..... I'm here all week, folks..... don't clap, throw money! And don't forget to tip your waitress!
I used to think that too. First thing the state of Illinois asked me for a while back was DL, health card, then paperwork on truck and load
Then you point them to the green book where it states it's not needed. Here, I'll even help you. §391.41 Physical qualifications for drivers. (2) CDL/CLP exception. (i)(A) Beginning on January 30, 2015 and through June 21, 2021, a driver required to have a commercial driver's license under part 383 of this chapter, and who submitted a current medical examiner's certificate to the State in accordance with 49 CFR 383.71(h) documenting that he or she meets the physical qualification requirements of this part, no longer needs to carry on his or her person the medical examiner's certificate specified at §391.43(h), or a copy, for more than 15 days after the date it was issued as valid proof of medical certification. Now that said, it only CDL holders (Ag exempt and non-CDL CMV still have to carry a med card) And while yes it does specify until 2021, well they've extended it once already and I read a news release that they will continue to extend it. Even if they don't, right now the med card isn't needed.
I carry my laminated medical card in my logbook. I email myself copies of the long form and the medical card. You never know when the officer that pulls you over might not have a connection to dot to verify your medical status. I have a photo album to keep all the legal paperwork. I keep my trip paperwork in an aluminum clipboard/notebook.
