Your going to find that the manual shifting is going away. With every company.

Thinking of moving to Texas and going with Schneider tank division.
Anyone have ideas on what maybe the cheapest way to be living there? Won't be home just need resident for the job. As I will simply be in there truck.

Why not just get a local hazmat tanker gig? With your experience someone might pick you up, and with most being paid by the hour with O.T. you would make way more than OTR driver.

I would but every company I called or called back has said NO. "It been to long since I drove tractor trailer." Do to insurance reasons

I just woke up to a call. I had a quick phone interview. She said that my interview information will be forwarded to hiring Manager. He will decide yes or no.

The position is ND as a water hauler. I feel the cold already

Call DMI there on Wooley Road just west of Rose. They pull pneumatics to there own plants and customers. Be at home everyday, I don't think Andy will care about your lapse of experience. Don't know what they pay there drivers. But 6 months to a year and you can go where ever you want after that.
Sure as hell beat the crap out of going to Sneider or one of the driver mills.
