I have always heard, but do not know for sure, about truckers staying in some rough places, and making trips to New Orleans and Texas on hurricanes, I find it easy to believe, but I was wondering, is it actually bad like I've heard? and if so What do you guys do for protection? I know that when the power company goes out you get some desperate people wanting their power back on and some more that are really desperate to take your tools off your truck and sell them. One of the crews I worked on, my foreman actually told us that if one of us had a pistol or anything make sure one of us brought one but he said he couldn't tell us that as a representative of the company because it was against policies.
I guess this just comes from someone from way back in the "boonies" that doesn't really adapt well to the ways things are done in the cities, I guess its just where I am from, if someone messes with your stuff you bring a gun out on them. But I also account that companies probably have policies similar to the contractor I worked for.
another question from a beginner...

The subject of firearms has been gone over numerous times...recently.
Search the forum for "gun, guns, weapons." -
-
Personally I wouldn't shoot until my life was in danger, too many liability issues if you kill someone for trying to steal company property which is insured anyway.
Now at home that's a different story...... -
sorry I searched the wrong words I guess, i did do a search before I asked.

No need to apologize...find the threads, they are full of good info.

google will give better results than our search engine. (THIS came from staff) LOL -
Check out the "experienced truckers advice" forum, and look for a 'docked' thread called "carrying firearms in trucks". There are pages and pages , with about 866 replies.
Most of the threads about carrying weapons have been docked. They were dragged on so long, the moderators shut it down to new posts. -
Thanks I will check it out now that I know how to find it.
