I want to become a truck driver, I live in California and I'm not sure what Trucking company is good to work for. I feel that the training is very costly and the contract are very long. Any suggestions?

Do you want to run 48 states or drive west regional? Freight rates are really down right now so that may affect how trucking companies respond currently. The tariff war with China is causing the rates to be low now.

I've heard Swift and Schneider have good training programs even though they generally are not thought of positively as career companies.

Yes that's what I heard Swift would be the best opportunity supposedly with the contract for 24 months. But I guess you got to do what you got to do if you want to be a truck driver.

Contract for 24 months? What? If they want to hold you hostage for 24 months what more reason do you need to not go to work for them? Think about it.
