Oh yes indeedy.
Many of the original overpasses in my early days were approaching their 75th year more or less and required replacement.
I think they cut one pair of tubes away in the Allegheny area, I have not been able to prove it yet. That is usually my pull on the T/P Sometimes newbie truckers come out eastbound looking downgrade on ice... unprepared. Its 5 miles 7% twisty.
If you really want history, about once a year on US 70 in Arkansas as part of a deliberate and organized months long march of military forces based on World War One technology east to west. (The hard way.) The last one took hours to pass here in this state on that old road. They did a good job.NavigatorWife and truckdriver31 Thank this. -
Some tunnels restrict HazMat or what you call Dangerous Goods. They will list which HazMat categories are prohibited. The most common restrictions are the Explosive and Flammable. MOST tunnels on the interstate(national) highways have no restrictions other than height/width

Don't think so... I can name about 5 right off the top of my head I can go thru when I carry. Now the CLASS of HAZMAT may keep you out of a tunnel, but not everything.

I just recently discovered that certain hazard classes aren't allowed through restricted tunnels in ANY amounts even if a placard isn't required.
