Anything that has to carry foot high shiny badging has to be trash.

I raged for years against crappy big cam engines that are unable to breathe hooked to transmissions too tall to shift worth a ####. burn 10 gallons to reach a shift up point, get into next gear up and the whole #### thing falls down and down two gears you go to recover all over again. The whole cab would shake in a special form of Hoka Shaaka. which is the closet sound conversion into english what it will do.

The last one one company assigned to me I turned it around and parked it in front of the dispatchers office doors and got in my car to leave.

    HEY! Move that!

Who me? nope you move that POS.

Anything else is lost in the dust. Those v8s were good for something.

I have been issued other cams in my life time and by all thats holy they can BREATHE and hooked to 13 speeds in which you can actually do work with them.

I know of a guy that claims the firewall fell out of his. This was like 15-odd years ago.

Lol what model? There is couple poor quality ( IMO) truck manufacturers nowdays, but not opening that can of worms. Doors rattle, dash squeaks, switch breaks off in your hand on a winter morning. Mercy me.

Not sure. It was one of the heavier spec models. Used for off road work.

Paccar? My 579 I got new last year has 116k on it with zero engine or DEF issues, BUT! Driver controls like mirror heat? turns off when you open the door. Electric window motor wiring is glitchy (sometimes I bang on the window so it will work). They delivered the wrong 5th wheel hgt & all 8 had to be retrofitted & overhgt fines paid for hicube trls at POE. Tensioner bracket from door to cab frame replaced X3. Steering wheel went off center 20d at 17K. I can't drive the longnose version daycab because you have to be a little dude. Even in the 579 I have to be all the way back & the seat cushion all the way back to get the right leg position at 6'3". Thank god I don't need double clutching. And if you drive over 60 even mty your fuel will drop .5g per mile. And it get 7mpg empty 3X's I lost my dash lights with mech not able to figure out why yet.
Dependable so far but it has some nagging issues like any truck.

I drove a ‘97 that had a 400 big cam and a 10 speed with deep reduction. That and an ‘85 R model Mack with an E-6 and a similar transmission were the two I did heavy haul work with.
