I watched that video, laughed so hard I fell out of my chair. A totally different radio, really?
So the detent collar used in both that manufacturer's and other's encoders (channel selectors) is supposed to make the radio better?
Just because it has deeper groves and clicks loudly?
Really?
Fine Tune prices?

I know a guy that got one of those radios with the new rubber knob. He says he can talk skip through a dummy load on one watt. He's a believer .
-
Sounds like he’s trying to convince himself that the extra $$$’s he spent was worth it? -

Hmmmm, maybe I should send him my old cobra 25, who knows maybe I’ll learn to love that rubber knob. -
There's also drawbacks. -
The image used has two antennas too close which removes any advantages that phased antennas have, rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
I like the stock knob on mine. If I leave the asphalt plant on ch 40 with 2 half turns I can be back to ch 19 almost without looking at it. Id won't the knob chrome even if I did switch over.
Night Stalker10 Thanks this. -
Finetune wouldn't accept it but I'd love to send him my hopped up Cobra 25 that only works at the CB shop. It has a 20 watt swing kit with a Connex echo board and roger beep added.
Last time I took it to the CB shop not working at all. He opened it up and resoldered a few things then hooked it up and grabs a mic.
CB guy: break 19 for a radio check! can someone tell me if this radio is working?
Random guy comes on the air: unfortunately!
CB guy: So I'm getting out loud and clear hows it sound?
Random guy: Yup loud and clear, sounds good no doubt about it!
I laughed but he was right! It was unfortunate because it never worked one second back in the truck. But I would bet money it would work today if I took it back to the CB shop.
Its almost comical.
