I bought mine from Turbo Supply. Some have used Turbo Exchange. Google some locals in your area and call for pricing once you figure which one you want.
-
I normally have gotten mine at Truck Pro for 650.00. But it's been 5 years since I bought one.
Rideandrepair and Intothesunset Thank this. -
Did you buy an OE borgwarner or a different brand from turbosupply? They advertise "new" no OE turbos.
I'm interested in their products, but not Borg since all the Borgs regardless of where I get it should be similar price/ same performance right? -
Original Borg Warner. Different suppliers have different pricing. Your not gonna get the same price from different suppliers. It’s like shopping at different supermarkets..... all pricing is not the same for the same product. That’s why I said to google a local suppliers for best pricing. You might need to go outside your circle to find a better deal probably. When you call, just tell them you want a Borg Warner and give them the number you want. Simple....... hang up and call another one. And so on....

Yes..... I bought mine from Turbo Supply but I have a Cat. I bought mine in pieces. They didn’t have a stage one at that time. So I had to put mine together. You have a Chevy(Detroit)..... like @jamespmack mentioned.... figured what horsepower rating you gonna play with and that determines which turbo to get. 171701 or the 171702. Goodluck

Thank you both for the great feedbackjamespmack and Diesel Dave Thank this.

Sorry guys. Little late to the party.
But yes, what jamespmack and diesel dave already said.
Dont mess around with anything other then genuine borgwarner. A 171701 if your not running a tune. 171702 run well set at 600hp. These can be had brand new no core for $650-700 . Do not piss around with cheap chinese knockoffs , spinning parts rotating at over 100,000 rpm and "cheap" do not go hand and hand.! -
I hear you can now get a 702 with a billet wheel now. Not sure on price or were to get it. Maybe you guys can confirm.Rideandrepair Thanks this.
-
The 171702 is basically a S475. It is a S400 series borg charger with the 88/96 turbine wheel ,75mm comp wheel and 1.32 A/R exhaust housing. Any good turbo shop can put a billet compressor wheel in that charger no problem. The 171701 is exaclly the same but has a 71mm compressor wheel.
Sky's the limit with modifications and wheel sizes .spsauerland, Diesel Dave and jamespmack Thank this.
