He might actually be doing ok on rates putting loads together like that. I dunno where he's at, if that kind of overhang is legal on a divisible load or not.

In dead zones i find ltl loads pay better than full loads of heavy junk. No broker wants their load to play second fiddle on the truck, and few people in their right mind want to deal with 2 brokers harassing for updates at once.
