Yep, same in Ohio from what I see. It’s the Swifts, SNI, Werners, etc standing on the gov in the 50mph construction zones.

But OSP has been having a field day lately with them in the turnpike construction zones :D Saw a Schneidy getting a ticket last night, and a Werner and Maverick this past week

Oh crap---it looks like a UPS freight truck, not ups package.

Just to make clear UPS freight road drivers DO NOT get paid hourly, we get mileage, then go to hourly any time we're at a terminal.

UPS has several companies operating under it----Package(the ups that's been around since the start), UPS Freight, UPS logistics, and probably several others.

Just wanted to clear that up.

That kind of crap scares the hell out me, so i'm pretty laid back now, just setting the adaptive cruise and putting a good podcast on----until the road opens up and traffic thins out. Admittedly, i was more aggressive, but decided there really was no time savings and it wasn't worth it.

I’ve driven 48 so far (Montana is on my bucket list) (and yes I’ve been to CA a few times)but generally UPS are good but some of them do fly along

I’m well aware of that,I live there.;)
However,at this point in time ALDOT and Alabama Highway Patrol don’t care about that. As far as their concerned someone was killed in a construction zone in their jurisdiction and they’re going to get to the bottom of the matter. And make no mistake, they’re itching to put someone in jail for this accident.

UPS freight and Fed Ex seem to roll along when you should slow a bit, every state. As far as Montana Beautiful country, I like back roads So I like Montana alot.
Your right as far as State troopers putting someone in jail, they think that's there main job, that's why they always try to ID and ask questions. I like the line if you have nothing to hide you would answer my questions, and my answer is on a need to know and you dont need to know. In any case we all hate to see fatals, no matter who caused them. We all want to go home to something at the end....

    P.S.
i hate to say this, but safety IS NOT #1 at UPSF, trust me.

    Here are our priorities:

    1) Numbers
    2) Numbers
    3) "Diversity" (this is not necessarily a bad thing, but safety should be #1)
    4) Safety (and really this is only because it affects #1 and #2)

As a temp when I was working for Centerline I used to run A lot of autoparts loads for UPS Freight Bakersfield, Lemore, Visalia, Fresno, Coalinga, Avenal, Paso Robles, Atascadero, Morro Bay, back to Bakersfield. Each city has a store delivery. I think it was about 450 to 475 miles , and you certainly had to stay with it all night to get back in 14 hours. So I do certainly understand.

Anyone that says safety is number 1 is blowing smoke up your backside.
Safety is, at best, way after profits. Heck if safety was number 1, not a single one of us would have a job as truck driving is inherently unsafe.

Its up to the driver to make safety number 1, and the driver should. The company I'm at now actually practices safety first, and back us the drivers. If I don't think something or a proceedure is safe it is my decision what happens next and in several situations the company has backed me 100 %. It is Hazmat / Smooth Bore. But there right there with us.

Oh ####, you guys have safety as number #4? It's number 5 at parcel. #4 at parcel is reports. Lot and lots of reports. There was a report for guys who didn't show up on any other reports because they must be cheating the system somehow (seriously). But like @Russian Rabbit said safety is for when ohsa, ketter, or liberty mutual is around...that's about it.

If the cone is too far over and risk running the rig off pavement onto soft ground or god only knows what, I'll assert my space and the cones will have to be reset.

I don't know the sequence of events prior to crash so it will go either way.
