How are they stranded? They chose to stay.

I would imagine they were on the road, hours ran out, I-10 closed in both directions, Orange TX to Vinton LA. Sections of I-10 underwater even. And there you be.

I just came from there. Left Thursday morning out of there hoping to beat the flooding and got stuck on interstate bc it was closed and it didnt show it on GPS and no chatter on radio yet. Lol I ended up making it to the loves 4mi away and holding up for a couple nights till 90 cleared enough to get me into Houston.
I'm willing to bet these people were asleep and never even knew it was getting that bad till they woke up. While I was stranded on interstate I got to see 2 drivers wake up in a newly formed lake at the 845 on I10. They quickly got out of there.

I don't even think they were forecasting 43" of rain in the areas originally. It caught a lot of homeowners by surprise also when they woke up to 18" in their house, I believe this was in the Orange, TX area.

yeah i don't remember seeing anything about those kind of predictions. I try to keep up with weather when i'm out driving but this one caught me off guard. Luckily i wasn't one of those poor drivers. I was just stuck out on the interstate the whole time watching the new lakes build up(fields now lakes).
