Brother, i appreciate your desire to help, but we dont have any problems. I never ever come on here looking for pity or assistance, i go to the Lord and he provides just enough, each and every time. Which allows me to come on here looking for who i can help. This morning i checked on a O/O who thinks hes got a plugged fuel filter, but between you and me, he needs an isx overhaul. Ive got no money.. He has negative money. A lot negative. Take pity on that fella, My life is good.

Theres nothin between the lines to read. a society that revolves around money has a hard time comprehending anyone who doesnt also revolve around money.

I was in the marines, she was in the army. Thats about all i want to share. My entire point was to jar the audience into remembering, dont judge a book by its cover.. Internet forums have a strange sherlock homes syndrome, trying to solve riddles no one asked to have solved with "evidence" that isnt even related.. Your socks are blue? Oh well youre sad, i just know it. Requests for advice become a jury trial and the OP leaves in disgust. then they all congratulate themselves on running off a troll. Pfft.

Daves advice is,not to get u rich , its mostly to get u out of debt and to think about money in a better way. If u want to get rich u need to read real estate peoples books and business books

    Good luck.

    I'm where you're at.

Nowhere to go to accelerate in job or pay.

Ready to buy a truck but the only options are OTR. I have no desire to go back out. Nor run a leash on my dash.

By far the easiest way to get rich is to start out that way. Other than that you have the occasional lottery winner or entrepreneur who makes it big, which is kind of the same thing as winning the lottery. It's a lot of luck and timing involved.

I could give anybody Ramsey's advice: quit spending money you don't have and pay your debts off. Good advice at any income level but hard to follow in practice. It involves saying no to yourself and going without at times, which most people do not like.

I read Dave Ramsey's book, "Total Money Makeover" in 2003, at age 50. My 23 year old son did the same.
Fast forward 16 years. Still out of debt, housing paid for, retirement funded adequately, not luxuriously. My son is in much better shape.
Was it easy? NO. Was it worth it. Probably saved me from a much more unacceptable outcome.
It is easy to follow, but more importantly gives you the motivational tools to complete the task.
Make fun of it if you want, stay broke if you like.

In my life ive read adam smith, napoleon hill, dale carnegie, graham and dodd, warren buffet ad naseum, tremendous amounts of technical analysis, wall street analysis, went to business school, have had businesses and have had successes. Ive read every rich dad poor dad book, robert schiller, thomas stanley, suzie orman, tax books, accounting books.. [Im an insomniac and reading helps me fall asleep] ...

So im not making fun of him at all. I have just come to the conclusion that there is no breakthru advice left for me. Society is so quick to keep tabs on and criticize out of jealousy those who inherit wealth.. Oh junior didnt build that castle. But no one notices those perpetually poor folks who inherit debt. We just figure the guy/gal with no money has himself to blame and never consider maybe his kid has leukemia or parents/wife/kids/siblings live off him/her.

If you love a person more than money, and that person brings more expense than you can cover.. Well there is no 5 easy step finance book for that. "Drop your loved one and be a selfish POS" does not make a best seller. The buffets and zuckerturds dont impress me anymore. The visitors slumped over in chairs at cancer centers and childrens hospitals.. Or nursing homes where their own alzheimer riddled mother is cussing them out as a stranger.
.. Those are the heroes. We should have more books written about those people and a lot less about keeping up with the whoevers.
