i think it still goes to the old saying..."if it's too good to be true"....
i'd never (and have never) bought any items from eBay or Craig's List, or any other online sites, from strangers.
this is what dealerships are for. at least you can go and see the vehicle , and they should have all the needed paperwork to be viewed on site.
Scammed on Ebay purchasing a truck.

It's a scam that nets millions every year. Post office, ups, fedex all have their own warehouse where things don't get delivered. And auctioned off.
Our local news did a story on it couple months back. I'll look for those stories and post em after work.FlaSwampRat and mhyn Thank this. -

There is a very good chance that insurance has taken care of the original owner, so basically he probably is not buying someone elses property.[/QUOTE]
Everything is someone else's property.
You don't snap your fingers and poof. There it is.
And I believe insurance is an addon.
The person that got the news attention. Was a lady. She spent the entire year last year. Making a blanket for her dad for Christmas. This blanket was made with memories held dear to her father. But he never received it.
Lost in the mail.
And nobody was reimbursed.
I don't remember if she had insurance.
