Thanks buck, I have asked all the authorities over and over about getting some type of video camera from that morning and I just get the runaround. I have said "the most looked at city in America for a terrorist attack and you have no cameras?"!!! Plus, they keep telling me "do you how many trucks pass through those bridges?". If it were their child or the child of some senator or the owner of a hotel chain, there would be justice. This is why I am turning to the truckers out there for help. I should have started here sooner but we were all in a fog for about a month and I just wasn't thinking of anything. I remember when my kids were small and we would take vacations. I would hook up the CB radio and you all used to help me while I was on the road, traffic conditions; side roads; speed traps etc.. If people just get out of the hammer lane they would quit crying about how truckers own the highway. I'm in a car and there is an 18 wheeler behind me, YOU DO OWN THE HIGHWAY! Thanks again to all.

My condolences to you and your family also. But just a thought on the truck theory here, a local truck (most likely), on the west side hwy Silver, being possible 126. A truck with description at that time of the morning in that part of town sounds like like a dirt/stone trailer running shuttle runs, this might be the easiest route for him to take. The other thought witch would explain the back up alarm would be a tanker, I noticed a lot of the local tankers with fuel or water here use the backup buzzers due to the places they have to back into.

Thank you for your concern Donna, this is the most difficult time being so close to Christmas. This is the first Christmas without Josh, in 24 years. Our lives will never be the same and the looks on the faces of the two younger kids will never be the same either. I truly hope that no one out there has to go through what I have had to endure this past two months. Thank you all for your help and concern.

Please keep us updated. I know that I'd like to see some closure and justice in this case.

I just returned from another trip to New York (my third in a month) to speak with a P.I. and visit once again with someone who saw a truck backing up on the Westside highway. I hope some of this information is helpful in finding this vehicle and again, I thank you all for your help. You see and hear far more than we do.
At 3:45 am a tractor trailer was heard (backup signal, not a bell) backing up. This person found it strange to hear a truck backing up on the highway. He saw a rig with a white trailer (both cab and trailer had no markings that he could see) backing, then adjusting to get into another lane then leaving. Fifteeen minutes later the witness sees emergency vehicle flashers and looks out his side window facing the highway. He sees my son in the middle lane and police and rescue workers on the scene. Josh was lifted into the ambulance and taken to St. Vincents Hospital where he was pronounced at 4:06 am.
This driver hit my son, then got into the lane nearest to the river and continued his journey. Josh was a very special yopung man and I admire him tremendously for his accomplishments but he was needlessly run down and it would have made things different if the driver would have made the 911 call, but he didn't was he in that much of a hurry?
Last Christmas was Josh's last Holiday season with us and I can tell you all that none of us here (my wife and two younger children) look the same as we did in the family photo taken with all five. Our looks have changed and our lives have been altered. I hope that no one out there has to make funeral arrangements for their child as I have had to do. With the way I feel on a day to day basis I cannot figure how this person/coward can sleep at night.
I could go on and on about this but I will stop here and continue to ask for the truckers' community help in finding closure here. If someone needs to call me, please ask the asministrator here, for my phone numbers and they will gladly release them to you. Please Help!

First ,I am soo sory for your loss.
This is just a sugestion- I would get ahold of the local trucking unions,
second i would get a hold of the new york buisness association.
The company who this driver works for Knows he did it and is just trying to cover it up... If he infact is an over the road driver( i do not beleave he is,because of the warning beep's) then get a hold of the your states trucking counsel. they will be abel to help you track this guy down..
See, every company is required by law to submit there logs to the DOT,
know assumeing this man( i use the term loosey), did not log himself being in the area( i am beting, this coward nid not), should not mater because, if in fact he is a local driver, he's been there before, and the DOT will have records of that.. Somebody knows who this coward is, And i am sad to say it is preaty much up to you to find out. the police in new york don't care about your familys grief bbcause it happens on a daily basis there...
I hope this is helpfull, and you and your family will be in my prayer's...
One other thing that might be helful, try and find a lawyer that specalizes in loging viloations(there are many, we truckers get many a tickket), he/she may better inform you of how to track down logs( they are open to the public)... again good luck in finding this low life, poor excuse for a human being...
