Well, Actually I went to Flatbeds. I found a small local company (which is my preference) that pays real well and I DON'T have to tarp!!! Home almost every night and weekends.

Ok, that being said, there are ALOT of tanker jobs down here. If you don't have to many questions, I would really put in your app with Robbie Wood. Transwood is a little north of Mobile on HWY 43. And theres a company just past them called DANA. I don't know exactly what they haul. But they got a yard full of good looking tanks and trucks. Groendyke has a yard down here and is looking for drivers. If your not in too much of a hurry I would wade through them to find the best fit for you. BECAUSE, one thing I have noticed down here is, Some companies down here don't pay squat!!! So, be careful. Make sure you know what they pay before you put in an app. I come from running NV, UT, WY, ID mostly. And sometimes AZ ,CO. So I'm used to $75-$80k on the low end. You CAN find that out here, but you have to search alot harder.
One thing you could try also is, There's a Polar tanks dealer just off I-165 on telegraph rd on the west side of the bay bridge. You COULD go in there and talk with the GM and ask him what companies have a good reputation around here. I knew the GM in Salt Lake City real well and they know all the companies just about in their area. They don't just work on Polar tanks. If it's a tank, they service/fix them. The point being, they know the companies around there, usually pretty good. Could give you a good start anyhow!
Also, because I'm new to the area, you may want to ask CHINATOWN here on TTR. He's a good resource for companies on here and very helpful!
I wish I could be of better help, but I kinda switched gears when I found this Flatbed job. Just to good to pass up kinda situation! I DON'T mind anything else about flatbeds, but I WILL NOT tarp. I started in flatbeds and after standing 14 Ft in the air once in snow with a 20 mph wind and once in NV with a 30 mph wind, I said to myself, "self, this ain't gonna turn out well if you get blown off the top of this truck!", so I went to another company (dry van) and shortly after that got the opportunity to go into tanks. Which is where I've been up until now!
Anyhow, I'll stop boring you to death and wish you good luck!!!
Just be patient if you can and something good WILL come your way!VIDEODROME, MTG_Tanker_Yanker and Just passing by Thank this. -
HAZMATINC.COM runs dedicated out of the FMC plant on hwy 43, Axis. Dana runs pretty much everywhere, also hwy 43, Creola.Transwood is on 43 just north of Dana yard. Service Transport shares Dana yard. Henniff/Miller Transporters is on hwy 43, but further south towars Mobile. There are more tankers in Mobile, just too tired to think right now.
Aaron Oil Recovery out of Saraland has nice, clean equipment.Last edited: Sep 26, 2019

Might this be Greenbush or Evergreen? Still like them?

You have Superior Carriers there in Creola Alabama. They moved into new terminal. Transwood took over their old yard in Axis
