Also is there a way to take the VIN number and find out if it which ECM type if has CM2250 or CM2350? I don't know the difference but I'm reading on them as we speak. Or, take VIN and check for Recalls minus going to the dealer? Ive done a RigDig on it already...

Alternative sources? Do you mean a "tune"? The ISX seems to have to most info out there as far as that is concerned...D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Probably referring to Incite, the Cummins software to plug your laptop into the ECM.
-
forgive my ignorance..... like I said Ive been a Detroit man for 20 years. I can actually plug it into my laptop? Would I have to buy the program like DDL Detroit? Thats pretty expensive....
-
never mind I just googled it.... lol
-
No I mean Insite yup lots of information out there!

I checked the rawze website....he speaks a lot preventative maintenance when it comes to the emissions systems.
StrokerTSi Thanks this. -
I would stay away from cummins ISX, second one I bought now its burning 2 gallons every 10000 miles currently dropping the dpf to see if its collecting soot in there. Try X15 or in my opinion D13 with manual might be a good option.
just my 2 centsnikmirbre Thanks this. -
Too many owners don't realize that the emission systems require routine maintenance, just like everything else on a truck. They don't give it a 2nd thought until that little yellow light on the dash comes on.nikmirbre Thanks this.

Yes I’m just try to go through a lot and see what exactly would require routine maintenance.
