Depending on the equipment you run and where you haul too. But despite what companies will tell you. Freight is average. More above average if you pull specialty, or high value freight.
Average $2.25 to Above average at $3.75 per mile. Again it will depend on where you book your destination.

Hmmm... OTR company driver, made it a lil over 1 year, and am pulling my last load for them.
SNI hires new company drivers out of almost every OC on a weekly basis And tries to lure as many drivers as they can into their IC program.
Reminds me of my time in insurance sales... the company Saturated all areas with agents...they did not care if the agents were able to make a livable wage...yet they enjoyed all the sales coming in And made commission off all of us...that’s horse hockey. -
Well you need to keep in mind that its a lot profitable for the company to run IC drivers, because the responsibility is all on the ic not the company. They push this idea that you are your own boss. What a joke. As long as they control your freight, they control your pay.TruckGal13 Thanks this.

Have you reviewed their contract? They control Way more than your freight lol

Yes, 5 years ago I attended their orientation and realized. They weren't for me. So I am probably one of a few who actually read and comprehend the legal jargon that's written in the contract.

If you're trying to go on your own. An you have one year. Try Landstar as a first step to O/O with your own authority. Because it will help you sharpen your skills as a new business owner. You need to know how to manage your business and juggle truck driving at the same time. Also the rate at Landstar was some of the highest I've seen. I work several brokerage divisions as an owner operator. Yes I have my own authority. I only give up 3 to 9 percent depending on the customer.

Yup, cheap/heavy......should be their motto.

It's not that simple. Your license must match the hiring areas to qualify for any company, sometimes even the lease program.
