He guess what it would do in the first post.

But then he corrected his first post with a follow up post. As the numbers in his first post were backwards.

Maybe this will help in your loading decisions. It is something I use to help our drivers here.

When loading 48 and 53 foot trailers with tandem axles, you must keep weights to 1000 pounds or less per foot of trailer used. Pallets or totes cannot weigh more than 2000 pounds each for side by side, front to back loading.
If your pallets or totes weigh more than 2000 pounds, you must spread the weight out to keep the 1000 pounds per foot formula. This could mean loading one single in center then two side by side, then one single and two side by side, etcetera. Using extra logistic bars to move weight to the rear of the trailer, keeping the 1000 pounds per foot formula, is also acceptable.

**48 and 53 ft tandem axle trailers can only be loaded to 48,000 pounds MAXIMUM payload.** (Depending on brand / manufacture or tare weight)

When loading Tri-Axle equipped trailers, the rear half can be loaded to 1200 pounds per foot of trailer using the same principles outlined above.
***ALL LOADS APPROACHING MAXIMUM WEIGHT MUST BE SCALED***

My truck is a 2007 frieghtliner Columbia... standard 3 axle truck. What are the typical drive axle ratings for these trucks. I know legal is 34k for the drives...

If my weight is at 36-38k on drives is it bad for the axles or truck?

The sticker in the door jamb should tell you that.

It may not be overstressing your equipment, but it certainly wouldn’t be legal on a public road.
