I have been pre-hired at TMC and I live in Southaven Mississippi, I am less than ten miles from the Tennessee line. Anybody out there know of any TMC drivers based out of this area? Any information on loads coming through this area would be greatly apperciated! Will I get my home time living here?
    Thanks

MS is good for flats. Lot of coils come in and out of there.

Thanks for the information, that is good to hear. I have five pre-hires and I am very interested in TMC. My other pre-hires include: England, KLLM, Transam, and Werner. Any advice anybody?

England and Werner catch a lot of flak on these forums so I'd probably avoid them, KLLM and TransAm I haven't heard as much bad stuff about. You will probably see plenty of shingles in your area too.

I have been reading ugly things about those two as well. I am not finding much on Transam at all though.

I also read that there was not anything within walking distance from the hotel we stay at during orentation, does mean that there isn't even a gas station close enough to walk to?

Nope no gas station or anything else to walk to. They have vending machines, sodas, candy and crappy microwave food there. Also lots of place that deliver there though both get old and expensive fast. Hook up with someone that has a car there or I think the TMC bus stops at Wal-mart once a week,, Tuesday if I remember correctly so you can stock up, sorry no fridges in room either. A few times we stopped at Wendy's too but that depends on whos driving and what kinda mood they are in.

Forgot to mention they have the TMC cafe burgers, sandwiches and such,, but I found it not to be open all that much for some reason when I was there. I always loaded up on the lunches the ladies give ya when your at class,, good eaten.

I was also wondering if they will have anywhere to do laundry at the hotel?

Thank you for the useful information! I am still debating on the % verses mileage part. I just want to do whats best to provide for my family. I was also wondering what if anything comes with the trucks, and what I should save money for to buy? Any information on that would be helpful as well. Thanks in advance...

Two biggest most important expenses are a laptop and GPS. You don't "need" either one, but your life will be a LOT happier with them. You will have 5 weeks with a trainer to figure out the mileage/% question, just make sure if your trainer is on mileage that you get the revenue to the truck on each load so you can make an informed decision. Also investing in the highest end cell phone package might not be a bad idea, you are going to spend a LOT of time on the phone trying to reach your FM.
