I don’t think the DD15 has a turbo compounder on it.

Ya I can't even remember now. They switched it up after I got my 2013. Didn't they take it off the vocational model but left it on the highway model? I can't even remember now.

I just know my 13 DD15 had the turbo compounding and my new DD13 doesn't. So I thought that was maybe the reason for feeling like it has turbo lag.

Hmmmm.....so I wonder how they feel now? And I still don't understand why they dropped the torque from the original 1850 to 1650 now raised it back up but only to 1750?

Yet the DD13 has 1850 now.

But I know my salesman just told me from his conversations with Detroit, the DD15 and secondly the DD13 are their golden childs now. They are putting all their efforts into them and he said they are almost ignoring any issues with the DD16's. He said "off the record" they want to concentrate all their effort back into the DD15 and changes are coming. he said you will see them going back to the big ratings and doing away with the DD16.

Hey i know this is a while after you posted it, but all of our new WS have worked great! I'm not a die hard western star fan, i love the KW, but off-roading like i do works super good in a WS, esp since the cabs are built pretty tough

Thanks for the update. It sounds like things are improving and since Western Star and Freightliner are the only ones still building gliders I couldn't get a new KW even if I wanted to.

Hoping to get my new glider ordered before Christmas. Just gotta finish putting together the big old down payment without destroying my operating fund and maintenance accounts lol.

Ha, right! They cost more than one arm and a leg. I know, man, it's sad the gliders are going away. Esp the Cats. Give me a C15 and an 18 spd, and i'll die happy. Even in a Sterling lol, which is what i'm in for another mo or two, then i'm in a WS with an ISX
