Yeah I understand where your coming from. I once told someone, if you ever need to be humbled or taken down a notch drive a truck. I have driven truck for the last 12 years of harvest here and that dang truck still puts me in my place at least once a day! I always chuckle when i hear drivers complaining that their truck is a pos. It almost always is the driver who is! lol
Congrats to your wife, and best wishes to you both.

There was a cartoon in the fabrication shop of my college that showed a man and his boy shoveling snow. The man had a standard snow shovel, and his boy had a tiny beach sand shovel.
The caption read: "It's a poor craftsman, son, who blames his tools."
So far it has stuck with me, and proved quite helpful.
To the OP, I had no trouble with my written tests, but I've always done well with reading comprehension/retention and am mechanically inclined. (I'm one of the lucky types who "test well").NDBADLANDS Thanks this. -

Great. I am studying to take the permit test and have no mechanical experience. - Only extensive OTR cross country experience in a car. (Back and forth from IL to WA - WA to IL and IL to CO.. Favorite route was WA to IL through So. Dakota.)
And yes. I am a woman.
I am serious about trucking as a career but my sponsoring employer wants me to take the CDL Permit test by next Tuesday. I was delayed in my start of study by two days due to unforeseen circumstances. Anyway. The employer wanted me to take the permit test with only a week to study on my own with the State CDL Rules of the Road Guide and practice tests.
You all have me worried now that I will be able to do this without some sort of actual class taken first just to pass the CDL Permit test.
Gosh I really want this but will I pass the DMV Permit test with such a short time to study so I can take those CDL classes?
Looking for Fellowship. "There and Back Again."

Study. Go to DMV before they open and read ONLY the section you'll take a test on. This way every thing is fresh. Go take ONLY that test. Sit in parking lot and read ONLY the next test Go take it. You'll do fine. I did this before ever seeing the inside of a truck and passed all the endorsements and the general in a day. The main thing is to relax, after all you have three chances. Good luck.

I look forward to meeting The Fellowship of Good Samaritans on the road. After all, besides for our Higher Power this is what makes our journey onward hopeful.
Thank you.
