    PT.3----recession schmession

OK, same deal; Same distance, same stretch of highway. The only difference is this is the first time i've been in ohio since the speed limit was changed to 65 and i was completely digging it.

Based on 30 miles--the measured distance
average trucks seen per mile 5.53
average trucks seen per 1/4 mile 1.35

Based on the number of trucks seen per 1/4 mile---1.35, we are not doing that bad. Remember that there are 120 1/4 miles in 30 miles.

So based on your scientific research things have really picked up in the last two weeks. Good to know!

I have to ask, how are you collecting this information while driving? Are you talking into a voice recorder or something?

I can count trucks on the highway too, doesn't mean anything though.

One way I can tell the economy is not doing well, everywhere I go I see a lot of things for sale, (cars, pickups, boats, campers, motorcycles, etc) I guess when things are bad people start selling off their toys.

All i can say is yes alot of people are hurting that is a given. Then again alot of people including myself a little had alot of things they really didnt need. Like campers and boats and what not that only get used 2 or 3 times a year. Luckily i kept my boat and sold my camper.( Paid off my boat with the money :) I have been fortunate thru this whole economical downturn as my miles have barely suffered still averaging over 2700 then again there are only ten trucks in my fleet and the businesses we serve are almost recession proof. Unfortunately my wifes job was not. Anyhow goodluck to you all hunker down and blame the rich idiots.

what if all those trucks were empty after sitting out the week at a truckstop... and the only reason they are on the road is to get the driver home before he drives it home anyways and then holds it for ransom???

or were they all fully loaded?

seems there is a website with better... oops... I mean more qualitative data available than just names on a door and how many per mile.

The reason I said this thread is a joke is because of the type of "analysis" used to try to say the economy is not getting worse. If your miles are good, that is great. Why do you feel it is necesscary to brag? Your miles mean nothing in the big picture. Does it make you feel great that your not suffering like others are? Do you think it will not be you very soon? It will be.:biggrin_25525:
