You know some of us really like reading the 300+ pages....In most jobs you get to know the people you work with. You build a relationship with them. Like I had said in an earlier post. I wish I would of found this forum earlier it would of probably saved my marriage. I was married to a Central driver and I feel that if I would of found this I would of had what I was missing most

I got myself all addicted to grilled chicken, cheddar, and tomato sammiches with Marmite and mayo when I had an H1B employee stay at my house over here from Liverpool. Man... it may be an acquired taste, but for me... it was all to easy to acquire. Just heavenly and oh so many B vitamins! : ) yum

Well as an old driver trying to get back to it, I can say that I enjoy this thread, I don't post but I read it every day just to live out my fantasy of being back on the road thru everyones posts, If you were looking for all the hard facts and no bs , find a short thread somewhere, but don't think this thread is useless, because it links a great bunch of people to each other , all with some kind of common bond, if nothing else, it is a great soap opera and a reality show all in one wrapper

Well Thanks for all your advice! My partner, Jolly Roger, applied to two different companies to get an intermodal job. Well this morning, he got a call at 6:30 am asking him what did they CENTRAL need to do to keep him. After the initial shock, he explained to them all that I talked to you guys about as far as being in the hole and needing more miles, etc. They changed his FM to a female one that supposedly won some award for being the best at keeping L/O on the move - LISA?? not sure what her name is. He still had to wait the 24 hours and pick up his load at 7 tonight, BUT, he was preset for 1500 miles with a shorter time on it. So thank you again with all your advice, because it was that advice that informed Jolly Roger what to say. He's on the move and he's is so happy to be moving.

Don't take this the wrong way becuase I'm not upset, but what was said about us (this thread) to the company?

Might have to start minding my P's & Q's a little more if they are reading this now, also shouldn't have my T-shirt with my name on it around the terminals anymore.

Lisa outta Fontana is good so I hear 6Pak and Brickman have her!!

Glad we could help even if it was only in a small way!

If nothing else you can join in our soap opera:biggrin_25525:

JahB, Marmite is almost the same as Vegemite (good stuff)

SW, Now you have broken the ice by posting up, You can join us in The days of our lives.

    Welcome to our Asylum.

Brickman, What can they do???????? no one is saying anything that isn't true!

And I really don't think they can log on unless they do it at home as the site owner blocks company ip addies.

She is really good, but if he did get her don't judge her on work right now. Somebody is on vacation & she is running two fleets at the same time, so she is a little busy right now... Plus I have been making myself a pain the companies backside due to my problems the last few days.

I just get paranoid, once a little time passes without anything odd being said to me I will feel a little better.

I have heard great reviews about Lisa and if i'm not mistaking in hearing with my old ears, her husband is on nights and he's pretty good too. Bob's happy with Eric right now, has been great with keeping us busy.....it's the wknds that mess him up and let him sit for too long if we deliver late friday...oh well, give n take i guess. lately it has been payroll that has been rather annoying, his last paycheck was $-253.00, spent the day on the fone getting things settled....it worked out this time but could there be a next time??, drivers aren't just drivers anymore, they need to be accountants, secretaries, bookkeepers and their own dispatch sometimes.

I love the message on the QualComm tho' "CAUTION: Driver-Do Not Use While Vehicle Is In Motion"....hehehe...stop messaging him then...lol

SW - welcome to the group. You know us, now it is time for you to post so we can get to know you.

Company Login - On another thread I was reading, the Director of <something> posted a note to correct an error (rumor) about the company school being shut down. So either the IP was not blocked, or they did it at home, but I all ways thought that the idea of a company using the tread was a paranoid few that post on here, I was wrong on that account too.

And yes, everything said on here is true, does not mean that they cant do anything. My instructor worked for 7 years as dispatch - if the owner (or a higher up) had a problem with a driver, they would not fire them, they would just tell dispatch to 'starve' them. If dispatch did not do it, then the dispatcher would get fired.

I don't think that my instructor is lying - he likes to stretch things when it comes to some of his OTR experiences, but he seems to be a pretty straight up guy.

Ok here is a new update on 1bad. He got a call last yesterday. Looks like he may not l/o after all. The head dude from the Kraft fleet wants him on Kraft! That is what his main goal has been from the start. We should find out today if he gets on or not. They told him they have to fill 5 slots today out of Atlanta. That would be perfect for us as a family if he gets is. We now are living less then a 10 min drive from the warehouse in Norcross. So PLEASE everyone cross your fingers for him and us. I really could use him at home a bit more often to help with the kids so I can get a job to really get us back on our feet again. Not to mention I am a bit nervous about all the responsiblity of being an l/o. I will keep everyone posted on how it goes today.

Chrome if your out there I would love to talk to you again about the kraft thing. Not sure if I should call you or when today so PM me and let me know when is a good time time to call. I think 1bad would like to talk to you as well about it. You know get the info straight from the horses mouth thing is what he said...........LOLOLOLOL
