Airport (city) codes. CLE is Cleveland, CMH is Columbus, AKC is Akron/Canton. Was a 'need to know' deal when I was hauling asphalt...so I know many of them. Who would think Chicago would be ORD? (Chicago O'Hare...) ;)

Sounds similar to where I work...I have the phone numbers and know who to talk to but not allowed to call anyone except dispatch...such a waste of time! Then they complain about getting too many calls WTF?

So it continues...also of note, my dispatcher for this load is the VP of one of the co's satellite offices. He's been doing this job for decades now.

Dispatcher: Ok they're still trying to figure out what to do with your load, because that address is wrong, so don't deliver there (Ive been parked since 2:30ish), find a truck stop or go to the Houston yard tonight (does he think Ive just been driving around in circles?). They're either gonna have you drop it at the USG plant in Houston or take it back to the warehouse in SA.

Me: Yea Ive been parked since about 2:30 here on the west side of Houston just waiting for an answer. But the jobsite contact said its the right order, just wrong delivery address and its a week early. He also said he can take delivery of it, but we need to have the correct delivery address on the paperwork. *note* I gave my dispatcher the jobsite guys phone # at approx 1:45pm

Dispatcher: Uh, he will? Where? Did he give you an address?

Me: Yea. But he wont actually tell me the address because he needs the paperwork to match so he can bill the customer. Did anyone bother to call him after I called you?

Dispatcher: Oh, uhh well I guess not umm let me call them back and see if we can ger ahold of the guy and get a correct delivery address.

Me: *beats head against steering wheel* Okay just call me back whenever.
