2013 Kenworth T680.
Had a rear wheel seal replaced on the left rear hub. Left the yard, and the ABS light and TCS light both came on. Parked the truck, shut it off, left it overnight. Went out this morning, turned the key to the "On" position. ABS system went through it's full self check, both lights are still on.
Is there anyway to reset this system? I'm figuring if I reset the system, and the lights return, then I have yet another issue that needs checked out.

If after driving above 5mph the light is still on you have an active fault. If the conditions are me and the fault goes inactive the light will go out on it's own. I would say you have a pushed back or misadjusted sensor on the wheel end that was repaired. Most likely.
Pushing the sensor to the tone ring and lot driving would confirm that is the issue. If drum need to pull wheels again. -
We have a winner! Yes, the wheel speed sensor was out of adjustment. Two minutes with my mad mechanical genius and a couple of taps on the computer, all the lights went bye bye!
And it didn't cost me a thing. Gotta love local shops with competent mechanics. The issue was due to my mechanics lack of recent familiarity with disc brakes. He's researching up on them now (as well as all the other common issues on my truck). -
In addition to a maladjusted sensor, this can also be caused by a loose hub nut, or the seal leaking again. Don't keep driving it before you find out what it is.

It really and honestly was a sensor knocked out of adjustment. Nothing else. My rig is back to perfect running condition. And ready for (yet another) inspection.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -

The answer is simple, the issue very common. If there was any work performed at the hub and the ABS/TC lights are on after the repair, the sensor(s) were not pushed back in place.
If the problem developed by itself, have it checked and fixed.JoeyJunk Thanks this. -
There shouldn’t be a big air gap between the sensor and the toothed tone wheel (hub…..i just wanted to sound smart) . The fix is sometimes simply adjusting the sensor inward to close the gap.

Wheel end or ABS speed sensors are self -adjusting and pushing them in to contact the tone ring is correct. The endplay in the wheel bearing sets the gap. Output speed, vehicle speed sensors and trans speed sensors on late model trucks are preset to a certain gap and most are non-adjustable. At least on Eaton and Allison transmissions they are anyhow.
Some old stuff with threaded sensors for Tach and vehicle speed are adjustable. Usually tighten down to contact the tone ring and back off 1/2- 3/4 turn.
Very easy to knock a sensor about while changing shoes or to forget to adjust after changing a wheel seal. Some can be stuck hard with age and impossible to adjust after the drums is installed. I like to pop in a new retaining spring and inspect the sensor during a wheel end service. Sensor springs are available without the sensor.
