Howdy there guys! I'm a recent new owner of a nice 1991 Ford L9000, it's an N14 and a 13 speed. Great truck so far, really enjoying it. The only real issue I have is an entire set of gauges not working at all. The tach, speedo, fuel level and oil pressure all work perfectly. The coolant temp, engine oil temp, axle oil temp 1 and 2, trans oil temp and pyrometer don't work at all. They never move a bit. Now my initial guess was a lack of power or ground but those seem to be fine, any chance someone out there knows of a common fault in this regard before I tear my entire dash apart chasing nothing?

I'd sure appreciate the help, thanks guys!

First off TY for that trip down that wonderful memory lane.

Second off, you have a one hell of a electrical problem.

I have some theories but frankly when a truck is that damaged you have any number of things that might be wrong. A very good shop will diagnose the issue in a short time. (I think you hate to spend money like most of us...)

While I want to agree, it seems as though it would likely be a common thing shared by all gauges, the truck runs and drives fine, I'd expect warning lights etc if there were things wrong?

    Care to provide the theories?

2nd of all, yeah, thanks for the mems too, I put a lot of time in a Louisville Ford. They were great trucks. What about other electrics? Heater motor? Cig lighter? Dash lights? Since they are all "temp" gauges, either all have a common ground, or power source. If the cab ground is good, I'd run a separate wire from the sensor to the gauge and see what happens. Electrical gremlins are the bane of the old truck owner. Great trucks, made money as a company driver with them. I don't ever remember them letting me down, always got back to the yard.
