Local or regional?

I was asking about Florida beauty. Have you read up on 1099 work in the trucking industry? I'm not saying there isn't good jobs out there but most of them end up as horror stories. Also like Chinatown said the pay is awful so I would think you could do much better. On a side note every expeditor I've ever talked to has tons of hurry up and wait and I'm imagining that's what this job is because of class b otr. Just remember is you are sitting for three days waiting on a load as a 1099 employee you are probably gonna do it for free.....

Some drivers don't mind 1099 jobs. Personally, I wouldn't do it. You're responsible for all deductions when you file taxes. The company doesn't withhold anything, such as social security, federal taxes, etc. That's your responsibility.

I don't like what the Panther job has about having to "negotiate" for certain pays on each load.

 

I totally agree. I won't work for any type of variable pay. If I didn't punch in on a Time clock to get paid hourly I have no interest in working LOL. I have talked to a few fbe drivers being as how they're terminal is right down the street from our bottling plant. They seem to do pretty well, they run their balls off but that's the name of the game from what I understand in OTR Trucking.
