Like deciding if you want herpes or HIV. Both company reviews are 2 stars. My honest opinion is neither. You're old enough to cross state lines. If you can't be a P&D or line driver for an LTL outfit, I say run OTR for a good company. You can easily turn 3k miles a week, plus layover and detention for lazy man work. Live out of the truck if you can. You'll stack mad loot if you cut your expanses, see the states, and then come home and get a real job. Trust me, us xpress is ####, and I know drivers who did food service. You'll blow a body part and age faster than ####.
Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
US Foods hands down. I’d find it extremely hard to believe that USX will pay anywhere even remotely close to US Foods. You won’t have less than 500 cases per day unless it’s a vacation town or a new market or something. Figure more like 700-1100 cases.
When I worked for US Foods I worked 4 days a week and made $1300-$1400.FlaSwampRat and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
This shouldn’t even be a question. Have enough dignity and respect for yourself to get away from USeless Express. I can’t imagine that they have a benefits package even remotely close to US Foods, if they even have one at all.

US foods CLEARLY. This isn't even a contest
JadeLove and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
you think US foods and sysco are about equal? I heard USF drivers have a 4 day schedule, but for sysco it could be six days and more money. sysco sounds like more of a grindFlaSwampRat Thanks this.

I don’t know about Sysco, but at US foods, you bid for your shift. 4/10, 3/36 etc. Depends what you want and what is available. And a lot of overtime if you want on your days off. Trust me.... you can get a 70 hr week running local. He pays Zero out of pocket for medical insurance for his family. He’s a Teamster out here in SoCal.freebirdnca and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

They are pretty similar, but Sysco is bigger. You could be working 6 days at US Foods too, it all just depends on how busy and how short on drivers they are.
At the US Foods location I worked at, extra shifts were assigned by reverse seniority (newest drivers first), but anyone with more seniority could take the shift if they wanted it.x1Heavy and freebirdnca Thank this. -
Family Dollars are only closing because Dollar Tree bought them out. Even in a devolving economy, Dollar General ain't going no where. They get the convenience dollar...benefitting from being the only store in so many ghost townsx1Heavy Thanks this.

OP, what do you prefer? I, not most others on this thread, can honestly speak about either company, never worked for either. If you are happy working at US Express, stay put. It's nothing wrong with working there. Either of which makes for a good paycheck to me! US Express must be treating you pretty good if you're having this conundrum
