Allowed would be 80,000 but we are always over weight, the closest to legal would be the peelers and pulpwood and they are usually hitting 90ish had a load of hardwood pulp the other day was 110k. Logs I can only estimate we don’t weigh them but I’d say a load of all oak logs 6-7k board feet some loads hit 8k board feet would be around 130-150k.
Which setup ?

About the same between a tri-axle and a comparably spec’d TT.....,
Buy some good drive tires and a full set of chains......
Beauty of a TT is you can drop the log trailer and pull any kind of trailer...... -
That’s exactly what I was wanting to know and what I was thinking.

Yeah a straight truck with a bolster bed is pidgeon holed into one segment that a tractor can escape a lot easier. Be ware the tractor cant just hook a flat and run interstate for a week. Its big money to get plates and common carrier insurance compared to running as a log truck 100 miles from base.

There are other options.
Depends on your budget.
And how much effort you are willing to put into it.
