I stand behind my comment. Even more now after rereading this board.

Hunt's policy is: when you quit, you take the truck to Omaha. I can't imagine they pay for a limo to send him home.
I live in Indiana, when I quit my other driving job, I turned the truck in in Arkansas. I found my own way home.
I gave 2 weeks notice, quit on good terms and am grateful that they employed me.

BTW, I take it you are a republican, looking at it from objective fiscal terms, Clinton was a better Republican then W. Free trade, welfare reform, a balanced budget, yep, sounds like a Republican to me.

If the Republicans want to wander back in from the wilderness then here's the plan:

1)Small Government - Most everyone is for that right?

2)Small business - Creates most jobs in the US right?

3)Personal Freedom - End the nanny state


It's simple work at trimming government back to what it suppose to do, protect us and set the rules by which the game of business is played. Cut small business tax to 0%, jack corp taxes to 70% on all profit made in the US(weather by foreign or Domestic corp's) and we wouldn't have a budget or unemployment problem in this country(when you tax corps heavy they reinvest rather then take profits, duh). Tell the people that want to control every aspect of your life to make sure no one dies till they are 90 to go take a flying #### with a rotating donut. Life was meant to be lived, and yes occasionally lost. This includes the fanatics known as Christian fundamentalist. The Republican party would be much better off if they sent them to a Jim Jones revival camp in South America.

 

You were so right on CEPT FOR THE FACT CLINTON was no republican. You only forgot his policies because Bush's were so not republican. But Clinton was no conservative. Keep perspective!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I just quit HUNT TRANSPORTATION yesterday...there miles SUCK..make just enough to eat on the road and thats it..743 miles last week..431 miles previous week 1100 week b4 that..Add it up 3 weeks = 2274 miles..yeah ok..told me 2200 miles minimum a week is what they were running so i went with them..Dave galley is a liar and thinks he runs things and he tells you one thing then backs the stupid dispatchers decision when he tells the driver another whole story and he tells you in orientation that he backs you up ect..ect..WHATEVER..HUNT will not be in business to much longer..I heard the owner of crete wants to get rid of it..Wonder why that is..because the company doesnt have the customer base to run the few trucks they have so their not making money i would get rid of it to...I thought they were good but i quickly found out otherwise..Well not my problem anymore...They dont pay you layover either when DG says he will..There a joke...Shortest job I ever had..and deb there assistant ops manager is rude to you to on the phone..BIG JOKE COMPANY..no money here....totally 100% agree with charleen....

 

I'm with you. I work harder and earn less than anyone else on this board and am proud of it. I would gladly pay an employer for the privilege of working for them, even if it meant putting my wife and kids on the street corner.
