ended up driving by this wreck about maybe 30 minutes after it happened, thankfully I was driving northbound and only had a 30 minute delay. southbound was completely shutdown and will be closed for most of the night. Been driving for 22 months and it is the worst wreck I have seen...so far.

Wow. Looks more like those trucks were hit by strafing fire from combat aircraft than a wreck.

One of them was a can hauler. No big surprise. Looks like he sideswiped a truck possibly parked on the shoulder.

As hot as fuel is with electronic engines, they ignite a lot easier than the old mechanical engine trucks.

A guy I follow on Instagram was a few cars/trucks behind after it happened they were shut down for 5 hours he walked to the scene and he got some decent footage on his story. it looked screwed up as heck. What can you expect fuel everywhere and debris. Hazmat takes a while

It takes a hell of alot of heat to light off diesel.

We used to resolve difficult burn piles at home with 1 gas to 4 of diesel and a highway flare so you aint on the pile when it goes and burns you up. I remember one very darwin stupid incident before we were taught how to mix fuel and gas to burn things that wont burn. I took a 5 gallon jerry can and Mr Gurgle all around that pile.

Im still here. minus a few hairs I think. Serves me right. The old saying Mr Murphy knows you will never get that third step to get out of trouble right now. We finally built a 10 yard pile and had one of the contractors show up with a forestry crane truck to pack all that into the bin in the back and go away with it for a few hundred dollars.

Looks like it's around exit 278, traffic backs up in the granny lane there all the time. TA and Pilot both have truck stops there plus there is a lot of traffic there headed for Newburg. Just a matter of time until this happened.
