2013 Freightliner Cascadia originally had an Eaton Ultrashift. It lost 4th and 9th so instead or rebuilding the auto I put a fro16210c in its place. I did the clutch and pedals and all that stuff associated with it as well. Programmed the computer to manual and speedo to magnetic but on the dash it has a fault code j1939. That is a generic code correct? Also the abs light is on now. Going to check all wiring and fuses but could the abs cause the j1939 code as well? Thanks

Good for You! Another truck improved!!
I work with a guy who's family has has a trucking business, they converted a ProStar to manual. It cost about $1700.00 for the whole job, only needed to fabricate 1 bracket, everything else they got from a boneyard. He claimed on that truck no changes were done to the computor, it runs and shifts just fine.
My only guess on the code issue, it could be a wiring, or a socket/plug. Or just coinsidence(sp)

yeah mine was quite a bit more than that since I had to actually buy a whole new trans, bell housing, and clutch. Ill do some more digging.

The tranny they kept, just took off the shift box, installed the shift tower, hung the linkage and clutch pedal.

@Norisservics, J1939 is the communication protocol that the engine computer uses to communicate with the transmission, ABS and dash computers. These parts are networked together and exchange information. For example, the transmission computer will send the speed to the dash and to the engine computers. The manual won't have a computer so you'll need to get your engine computer reprogrammed for a manual transmission but you said that was already done. I suspect that your computer wasn't reprogrammed properly.

That is what I'm thinking as well. I also found the second terminating resistor on the wiring harness for the auto that they removed so I need to figure out where it goes in the manual setup. Any ideas there? I have one on the driver front frame rail right now.

So you removed the computer..... The 1939 circuit should tie all the computers together with a daisy chain and 120ohm resister (terminator) at each end. If you only unplugged the tranny computer then you broke the daisy chain and the rest of the computers are looking for the other terminator. You will need to make sure they tied both j1939 (in and out if you will) in the tranny computer plug back together so that the remaining computers can see both terminators

Thats where my problem lies. I found the other terminating resistor in the harness they removed from the truck. So currently it only has one terminating resistor in the chain and I know that's why it has the "no trans j1939" coming up on the dash. Problem is I don't know where the resistor goes and the Freightliner close to me can only tell me to give them my vin which we both know is useless. I plan to look all under the truck and see if I can find a spot where the other one goes.

There should be two sets of 1939 wires in the trans comp plug, they are usually the standard yellow and green. You should be able to jump them together and complete the daisy chain.
