    As far as I know..you re just required to "fill in the gaps" on last 10 years employment or unemployment . They Dont particularly Care what you did or didnt do.I had some unemployment before first driving job/ didnt matter long as the dates match up.No empty days ( or gaps). Its just a DOT requirement to make sure youre not Omitting trucking jobs with failed drug tests,wrecks etc.All they care about is driving records.Get a notorized letter about the health care and precise dates and a printout from Social Security Administration. Shows every job you ever had that you filled out w4 for.Im sure with a little legwork...theyll put you in the saddle.

    Some companies only ask for the last 3 yrs. of employment for those that didn't have a cdl. Read the questions carefully on the applications.
    Doesn't matter, you're hirable for several companies.

    You don't have to get chewed up for a year before things get better. That's the point of doing the research. The more specific you are about your needs andvthe more accurate info you have about working conditions at a company the less chewed up you will be. The guys that get really chewed up just accept that outcome and flip a coin about where to work. Don't do that.

    No,just put unemployment from Oct 8 to Jan 15 or whatnot. Just made sure every day was accounted for.Went to driving...never heard any questions about anything wrote down.

    So a few days after posting this I talked to a recruiter who was finally willing to give me a chance. He was an older gentleman than most of the young kids I've been talking to, and I might have begged a little, maybe a lot, but I just picked up my bus ticket to their training facility today. Which they payed for. They're a bigger company, but I feel I'm probably more likely to be overlooked or forgotten at times by them than forced to take risks with my license or safety as some in this forum have warned me of. They're going to sponsor me for pretty much everything but my food costs, which I'll pay back once I start earning, and the timing and everything is too perfect for my needs for me to pass up. Am I probably going to get chewed up for a year or two? Yeah... But I'm past this road block and things are finally moving forward for me.

    Again thank you everybody who gave me kind words, leads, and/or advice.

    meh, Vegas is the same.

    Glad to see you didn’t go to AIT/Roadmaster. With southwest you could have used WIA to pay for the training, what little I read about your situation makes me think you would have qualified, sounds like you found a place, what’s the company called? Good Job

    No I didnt go with any of those companys. Im not going to say what company I went with here on the internet. But Im pretty confident its a good one overall.
