I have a 2004 tri-axle midland end dump trailer and I was recently told by a highways engineer at a job I'm doing that they want me to put the maximum height on the side.

I've phoned dealers and all I can get is an approximation of about 11.6M high. Anyone know the actual max height of an end dump made by midland or where I can go to find out? I don't have a measuring tape that long.

    Cheers

Hi Distrubed Canuck: I assume the engineer is looking for height when dumped(11.6 M high)???
Down here in USA i believe DOT requires height marked over 10'(about 3 meters). I have never happened to be on a job where dumping height was required on trailer. As long as wires etc werent taken down, no one cared...:biggrin_255:

Well when you work with government chaps, they can get a tad bit anal. Dept' of highways likes to work by the book.

So far as I understood, yeah the engineer wanted me to put the height when dumped and all stages are up on the cylinder.

    Cheers

Gezus DC, first time i heard of that....
I would be telling the engineer to get his ruler and measure it....tell him to sit on the head board and take a ride....when he is at top of dump, tell him to get you a measurement.....:yes2557:
does the engineer know the height of everything on site, that you would be close to while dumping?
if you aint ripping anything down while dumping, who cares....

Some roading jobs over here will only let bottom dumps work on them, why don't you tie a string to the front of your trailer then put it full hight then measurer the string??
