Hello all, I am a CDL class A holder (like that means a lot) that has been away from trucking for about 2 years now. I drove for Swift for about 3 months before quitting and stepping away from driving semis. I recently got back into driving a straight/box truck for mediocre money and have talked with my wife about going back OTR. Just wondering about what companies to talk to, thinking the bigger companies like Werner etc since not much experience. Thinking I will have to go thorugh a mentor again. Wondering what to expect, a whole 140+ hrs with trainer? I have kept my CDL up to date, as well as my physical. Just wondering what steps I should take to get back into driving OTR. Thanks for all the help in advance :)

yes, I was fairly sure that it would hinder jumping back into driving. I quit rashly because of family and the strains of being out on the road as a newbie with Swift. I have since worked locally driving, but not more than a straight truck. After talking with my wife, we thought it best to go back over the road and get in a year+ and to get the experience for something closer to home for later down the line. But of course, going to have to go back with one of the big companies again. Just wonderging which ones to talk to and how much training I would have to go back thorugh. Thanks for the help :)
