I agree too. Everybody preaches "equality" these days. Well my 160 lb body uses less of the plane's resources to stay in the air. Why should I pay the same as the 400 pounder that requires 2.5x more energy to keep the plane in the air?

You can have 50 heavy people in the cabin or the usual load of 110 souls consumed with their own worlds. But the plane has to be balanced and below a certain max weight in order to fly and do it safely. The fuel burn will take care of itself.
I choose to examine the situation where certain planes are becoming capable of flying the Globe in about 18 to 20 hours with a two hour reserve And your situation with the bulk of the passengers must change. They cannot spend that flight 30 inches apart in upright seating. Strokes and other deadly situations will be a problem.
If I had a 18 hour flight, my situation will include a formal bed Wake me up a hour before landing if need be if i have not already woke up when those monster Trents come out of cruise.mjd4277 Thanks this. -

I was on a 14 hour flight, including plane change, and was stuck in a window seat with an obese man in the aisle seat. It was miserable and he snacked the whole trip. Took me a week to recover from exhaustion.
That aisle seat was supposed to be mine, but the airline swapped it.
Now I fly Hainan airlines because it's Chinese and the passengers are Chinese and most are not fat at all. I've never been bumped from my aisle seat either.

Now trucking companies are going to think this is revolutionary. That's going to be a requirement before you fill out that intelliapp

Bearskin (aka scareskin) airlines where I am weighs passengers prior to boarding their little pisscutter Fairchild metroliners apparently. I have been fortunate enough not to fly with them.

Terrifying

Those Metroliners have to be balanced for flight just like other aircraft.
If you think that’s terrifying try flying on an “Island Hopper” service across Hawai’i-in a Cessna Caravan-while the trade winds are blowing across the islands and the straits!
