Yea!! Got the PM done and hit the road. Made my delievery to wally world but (heavy sigh here) no mty's to pick up and they won't let me go to Cargills to get an mty there. At least I'll get another good nights sleep out of it. Have a preplan going from Amarillo to Holcomb. Since its a paper company, assuming I'm hauling packing products.

Does ya'lls preplans let you know what your hauling?

Like Brinkman, I'm amazed that something is being picked up in KS that ain't meat.

Cowboy, many thanks for the service that your providing to this country!!!!

I was able to meet with JJ for about 30 minutes and have some great one-on-one time discussing the questions I had at the time.

Thank you so much for making it possible!!

Looks like I have some phone calls to make on Monday to get things started up right.

I have to appologize though, by the time I made it home, to write it down, the name of the dispatcher he really likes had left my memory. Please let me know who that would be once again!!

    Thank you!!

The article I read was most likely biased, since it was within a food service magazine. I can see your point. The part about commercializing reststops was not about the already commercialized ones. Because of the revenue these already commercialized ones are making, they got the idea that commercializing the basic (go pee and maybe get a drink) ones. Nevertheless, this is exactly why I made sure to make clear what was my opinion, and what was in the documents I read. I was just trying to envision how they would commercialize the reststops without increasing their capacity. After I read your post (Steelerfan) it occurred to me that the commercialization of reststops may be more targeted toward four wheelers, than truckers. In that case, while I can see a drop in motorists related sales, I wouldn't think it would affect truckers. It just might make it a little more pleasant to not have to deal with them when trying to get into a truck stop...lol. Maybe the various truckstops are not wanting to give up even a little revenue. I guess I can't blame them with our economy the way it is at the moment.

One last thought before I go to bed... I went from coast to coast with my partner and of all the places we went, (and being a city girl from Chicago, and then Las Vegas - I never thought I'd say this) Pocatello, Idaho was the prettiest town I've ever seen. It was fairytale like, such a dreamy place. I almost felt jealous of the people who got to live in such a beautiful place.

    Mouse -

Great info - thanks - I am not worried about the government going into business - Oh wait, we have that - Citi Group, Bank of America, GM, Goldman Sacks - and on.

What I really would like to know is who in the hell determined that we need to become a socialistic country. I think the government should lay off 50% of its work force and begin to operate as a for profit business. - my two cents.

Cowboy - I was in Dhaharan for a couple of summers, 125 degrees, 135% humidity - all one had to do was walk outside and it was like taking a shower - hot, muggy and totally not fun. Then if a sand storm should pop up - well, that was the topper!! I know what you are going through, to a point, I had a house with dual A/C units and an A/C in the garage - but it was still miserable.
