I just applied to Central and I am going to school at the end of July. I went through hell just to get them to let me go to school because I was recently medically retired from the army, so I am hoping school is much better than the application process was.

What was this security check like? what kind of stuff are they asking you and are they pulling background checks on you prior to arriving at school?

I like the very north end of Idaho, thats real pretty land up there.

Its not my fault if whatever virus these people in California is spreading, they just love to kill everyone's fun.

they pull background checks for the simple reason that canada and possibly mexico is very strict on who passes there borders. depending on your history they might not let you through. and companies don't want to run the risk of having a load sit at the border while they try to find another driver to pick it up. so they have to be picky about who they send to the borders. they also don't want you having any outstanding warrants. or suspended licences. D.O.T. pulls you over for a inspection you might get arrested and they have to send a driver to take over your truck. that can be very annoying if they have to find a driver somewhere in the country that is available to be dropped off in some state somewhere. not to mention the shipper gets upset when the load is late. can't tell you how many drivers i seen that don't care enough to keep there job when they get pulled over for whatever reason and then play stupid with the police that they didn't know there license was expired or suspended.

if you have any history you would do yourself a world of good to have it expunged. it's a cheap price to pay and the process is done through your state BCI. Background Criminal Investigation. it's a simple process you do yourself but does take time for the appropriate agencies you have to visit to complete the paperwork.

The word on the street is that yes, they do start background checks before you arrive, but they also continue to receive them once you are here. The key thing is make sure they know about ALL of it before you come to school. If they know everything and still want you to come to school, then you're golden.

Some guy just drove off the side of the mountain I live on, fell 1,000 feet to the roadway below. That is my #1 fear having to drive up that road every time I go home.

Here is the story, but if you have a weak stomach you might not want to click...
