Told to me today: They will only consider people with a minimum of 12 months of flatbed experience. The recruiter said there are companies out there that will bring on drivers w/non-flatbed experience. But, they will not.

I am also considering going to work here...have heard nothing but good. Was just wondering if the miles are still steady or did they go in the toilet like everyone else?

When I worked for Tandem I loved it, this company throws money at ya. As far as freight goes they haul mostly building materials with a coil of steel or two every once in a while. I have not worked there since 1998 and left on good terms with them. They used to hire drivers right out of school I was a trainer for them for a year but things could have changed. Be prepared to only sleep 4-5 hours a night for a measley $900 to $1,200 a week. Not to mention they pay any toll you turn in how crazy is that. All in all they were a great company when I worked there and my bet is they still are. Most loads with them are turned overnight 300-600miles. Oh yeah, if you stay out weekends they pay $100 in cash for expences and $50 if you dont get home till Saturday.

I did all 48 states and Canada but most runs were east of Rockies and 4-500 mile overnight runs
