Well, you spanked me. I've been guilty of a rant or two. I try to keep it to a minimum, but sometimes emotion gets the best of me.
In my haste to keep my post short, I might not have explained myself good enough. Cattle had delivery points as well. I doubt anyone, except 1x, could get a 50' pot into downtown Chicago and if they could I doubt it would be feasible for a load out of Kansas to Chicago. I'm assuming you buy puts on your grain?Wifes uncle, I think, buys puts on his grain and forward contracts on his cotton. Futures contracts can be a good tool when true markets control the contract, but when the futures create the market without even looking at the real supply and demand (cattle for instance) then it sucks. Hope that cleared things a little.

Finally dragged my sorry butt out of bed to do the weekly 5k. Looked out the window and there's snow. This just turned into a Bailey's and coffee kinda Saturday.

We are lambing now so I know how she feels. Calves, no doubt, are a little less trouble, but comparing apples to apples, money in and money out, sheep have never lost me money. I can't say the same about cattle. Certainly not saying you shouldn't. I'm just saying, I won't.

    You're starting early!

Hate to admit it but I did mine earlier this week. Even applied for next year already.
I often complain about new things, but I have to admit that I really like being able to do this type of stuff online....at the last minute!

I wouldn’t mind having one of those, but the misses wants to drag me to some state park.
