Rest Stops, R.I.P.

i guess just a nother problem for truckers looking to take a 10 hr rest, bad enough parking is few and fare between in that state, and they wont allow parking on the ramps, maybe just a nother way for the state to make some money when more and more trucks start parkin on the ramps.

I am waiting for the first accidents to be mentioned in the news that can be attributed to tired drivers (trucks and four wheelers) who caused accidents due to lack of rest stops.

 

I think state rest areas are the best thing in the USA. They make the Canadian Provinces look like the cheapskate goofballs that they are. There is nothing like going into a state welcome center as you enter the state. A lot of them a just beautiful buildings kept as clean as your average operating room. I've learned more about each state from the info that i've have gotten in the rest areas than from history books. My daughter and a bunch of her friends were planning a vacation somewhere in Canada. She was over at my place looking through my rest stop info and now they are going to Watins glen in the finger lakes region of NY. These areas show me how proud of their state the people are and it encourges me to respect the state and try to keep it as nice as they keep the rest area for me.
