When I see that on the oil haulers, check shocks, check for loos suspension components, retorque wheel bearings, and tell the driver he doesn’t have to use all the HP every time.
I’ve had good luck cleaning up wear like that with first 4, the last one always seems to be the hardest to get accomplished!!!
What would cause a tire to wear down like this ??

I've never had much luck getting control over a wear pattern once it sets up but yes these drivers I see foot on the floor grabbing gears exacerbate the issue.Dave_in_AZ, Working2party and x1Heavy Thank this.

If you saw us rolling that old 500 mack, it's almost spends all it's time between say 900 and 1400. Hardly fast. Just have to keep moving and left door shut. But the territory we worked depending on our jobsite would be 30 minutes at most. Not necessarily in a hurry, just keep moving. And it ran really well when treated slow and easy. Compared to the firebreathers Ive had at other times.
Once in a while Ive gotten with the foreman in his dump (Single axle) and we would have a little race. But thats only because the food is good, the job is excellent and its a wonderful day. He's gone now, passed away from a torn major vein to his heart. Dropped while shoveling snow some years back.Dave_in_AZ, Tx Countryboy and bzinger Thank this. -
Sometimes it’s just El Cheapo Chinese Inferior brand tires that wear like that.
Rubber duck kw, stillwurkin and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
Sure can. 30 years back i had kelly tires on my steer and they were wearing bumpy and irregular. Friends told me to get trk aligned. All i did was get a new different brand, and they wore perfect. Not saying that will work always, cause it doesn't. But it did that time.
