Make sure the warranty will cover all emissions related repairs. I would look for a newer truck with 300k or lower miles if going with a emissions truck. Good luck.

83,000 dollars for a 2010... such hubris. So wrong on many levels.

Only 10K cash ready? Fuel will eat that up your first month.

You the OP stated that you read 4 years worth of No, nein, nyet, forgetaboutit etc on these forums. What part of No do you not understand?

Keep that money in the bank ready to go as a company driver. Stack a thousand to it now and then each year. Next thing you know sometime later in life you will understand that you can pick almost any place in the USA you love and buy a home cash.

If you had say 400,000 dollars on hand in cash within a few hours by appt with your bank via your regional Federal Reserve then by all means pay the 83000 (Waste it...) for that precious volvo. God help you. //half tease... half teaching.

Wait until they find out what freight is actually paying these days.. I just parked my tractor because I cannot run my truck on $1.00 per mile freight.

My 07 D16 purchased with 200k on the clock was actually not bad once Volvo got all its sensor and ecm issues straightened out , it took about a week and had to be connected to the mainframe computer in Sweden.
Once that was done it got decent mpg and had power.
It finally died at 800k from a cracked head after I got rid of it .
I wouldn't recommend buying one tho unless it's at a give away price .

The way I figure it at $15,000 down and the payments your making comes to over $80,000. That's far more than a truck that old is worth.

The bank must be charging atrocious interest or something.

    Thats negative flow.

When I bought that tractor I required a minimum of 1.24 or so with a ideal of about 1.60, this would be 1994 dollars equal to around maybe 2.30 and 3.00 today's inflated money.

Now if anyone wants to give me a hard time, save it. There are times in life you decide to go do something like buying a tractor and it does not work out for reasons that are pretty something else. Im over it. It's a good truck and I think some other lucky sod would have enjoyed it for sure with it's middle range Cat and 9 speed rockwell etc. In those days. Ive taken her out a few times and remember it was strong.

1.00 is not good business sense.

I must ask a stupid question... who decides what American Truckers made, company and O/O's Brokers? Shippers? who?

I would be somewhat happy if I could just get $1.50 per mile steady. Unfortunately that would require the company I leased onto to have steady freight paying $2.00 or more..
