I'm looking at FCC solo OTR package. They SAY they demand 2 years OTR in the last 3. That's kinda strict, especially from a company saying that they need drivers. That's the kind of policy that a company would do if there's a glut of drivers applying. So are they looking for drivers, or do they have too many applying, and only want the best to replace the few who are leaving? Didn't someone say that they have a good number of empty trucks sitting in the lot, or am I mistaken?

They have trucks sitting, but the aren’t just going to put someone that can fog a mirror in them. They will work with drivers a little on recent experience if they feel like they will be a good fit, and their driving record looks good. I would suggest call recruiting and pick their brains.mushroom1464 and Knucklehead Thank this.

I live by tulsa. Its a good area. I know of 5 or 6 other fcc from the tulsa area.

I'd have never thought that someone outside of that tight of a parameter would be considered mirror foggers. LOL
That's what I figured about them working with the drivers. Maybe they're just keeping the ones who are way out of the ballpark from applying.runningman0661 Thanks this. -
That's good to hear. Do they have a drop yard in Tulsa?
-
No. We do have couple customers around tulsa with spot trailers. Closest drop yard would be kc or dallas.

With the amount of companies closing up, these companies can, should and will tighten up their hiring standards. There’s a lot of seasoned, safe and long time drivers that are unemployed right now. Personally, I think these companies should follow what FCC is doing. All one needs to do is run across 40 in NM and Texas to get a good visual on what lower hiring standards affords. The first ice storm and there’s enough big truck wrecks in a 200 mile stretch to last the rest of the winter, when it officially shows up next month.

I haven’t gotten through the entire thread yet but I keep seeing the two year otr requirement popping up here, on their site I saw they’re hiring recent CDL graduates for their southwest regional division and that they provide training. Is the 2 year experience just for the otr positions or are they really hiring recent graduates? And does anyone have any experience with their sw regional position?

They will hire recent graduates if you have come from an approved school, and provided they have a trainer available. I will recommend calling recruiting to get the full scoop.Rollr4872 Thanks this.
