Maybe Virginia can use all the fines they collected from these citizens to keep
open all the rest areas that the Virginia DOT is closing on July 21st 2009.

Sounds like the weekend traffic-fundraiser campaign went well

I got a ticket last summer, 71 in a 55 on 81, DOH, was not paying attention, speed limits changed around Staunton. Well I got a lawyer, $500, and he was able to get it reduced to a $395 equipment violation. So I poured $800 into Virginia's economy.

Virginia has steep fines, if these tickets average $150 each they had a pretty good money generation weekend.

Look for more of this everywhere. With federal monies to the states getting trimmed more and more it's all about money. CHA-CHING...

I half expect that we will be seeing the states raise ticket fees as well.

I will agree with all of it but the seat belt citations. I would bet that 1/2 of the law enforcement dos not use a seat belt, I see it ever day.
