I just found links to trucking schools here:

found some good recommendations for California - it's hard to find this kind of stuff through Google - too much fly by night BS. I don't have time to BS.
Hope this helps.![]()

thought I'd update this post.
through the link I found a Community College in Sacramento that will get you from class C to A in 18 weeks, it's M-F kind of 8a-4p. These are some real down-to-earth folks, that can help.
I feel very blessed to have found this opportunity. I am starting in December, and I will keep updating this thread now and then to let you all know how it's going.

Well, we are almost done with week 3 of 6 for the first part - it is just preparation for the written test and also lots of inside information about the industry. The class is taught by a woman with 20 years experience (2 million accident free miles), so needless to say, she has alot to teach and does it with real world knowledge. We did HOS and log book practice today. It seems to go kind of slow sometimes, but we get to go back and review concepts alot, and we do all of our reading and practice tests in class, so there is no homework.
I was talking to someone tonight who said that a local agricultural trucking outfit trains the drivers for 2 weeks, then turns them loose with doubles of tomatoes or what-not. It made me glad that I am getting 18 weeks (12 behind the wheel) of training. -
Is that the education center on Lemon Hill Avenue? How was the program during weeks 4-6? Approx. how many driving hours total? A lot of questions, I know, but that location might be the best for me as well.
