I want to go to school to get my CDL and I am wondering if there are any grants, scholarships or loans to apply for?

Go to the county employment office and ask about WIA (workforce investment act). I believe you have to be unemployed as a result of a layoff.

Many schools offer financing. Others do not.

I agree with the WIA program. That is what I'm doing. I don't believe you HAVE to be unemployeed to qualify, but you do need to meet certain requirements. Good luck!

Some community colleges offer it as an accredited course, allowing federal grants and loans as a possibility. Some CDL training schools are accredited also, so look for them. Two examples are Pell grants and Stafford loans for these two types of schools. First step of any Federal program is to fill out FAFSA.

BTW some schools offer custom financing, such as payment plans or loans from the school.
